RESITO PECSON, SHOP OWNER,
TWIGS AND MOSS
WHERE
Twigs and Moss, St. Louis
BACKGROUND
Pecson named his shop
after the two materials
commonly found in his
botanical-inspired
arrangements.
WHY WE LOVE IT
Pecson’s focus on
simple, natural holiday
decorating seems tailor-
made for the hectic
season. “I try to make
designs that are very
clean, not fussy,"
Pecson says. “Fussy is
too distracting.” Each
month, he redresses his
shop's front window to
showcase trends and
inspire shoppers.
OUR FAVORITE FINDS
Mantel and tabletop
arrangements made
with wreaths, boxwood,
and, of course, twigs and
moss. Prints framed in
reclaimed teak. Vintage
ceiling tins hung as art.
HIS DESIGN TRICK
“In anything I make, I pick
one component I love,
like seeded eucalyptus
or sugared pine cones,
and use as much of it as
I can. That gives a clean
presentation and the
biggest impact.”

To get Pecson’s cascading wreath look,
above,
tie lengths
of sturdy twine to several wreaths and kissing balls. Hang
them from a wreath hook, adjusting twine length to
create a layered effect. A satin bow hides the knot.
